Shipwreck Under the Milkyway

July 28, 2017 a fishing boat drifted too close to the rocks along the Estero Bluffs, just north of Cayucos, CA and ended up on the shore. It now sits stranded under the starry sky, slowly deteriorating, eventually to disappear forever.

The night sky in this photo is quite revealing. You can see the center of the Milky Way, the constellation Scorpio, Jupiter, Saturn and an Iridium Flash created by the reflection of the sunlight hitting the solar array of a satellite.
